Infrastructure Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Infrastructure Engineer to join our close knit and high performing Infrastructure Solutions team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform a range of interesting and challenging tasks for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake the technical aspects of developing project scoping documents, including client site inspection, and technical advice on systems, software, and network configuration.
  • Conduct or coordinate the technical build or rebuild, installation and testing of platforms supporting the delivery of virtual environments.
  • Conduct or coordinate the technical build or rebuild of virtual machine host environments.
  • Conduct or coordinate the design and build and installation of solutions in support of virtual platforms and technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to lower-level staff across a range of areas and provide high level technical advice to the organisation as required.
  • Produce accurate and effective documentation, including system specifications, user manual, and task management and system baseline documentation.
  • Assist the architectural team with detailed design development and creation.
  • Liaise with clients within the context of assigned projects; and
  • Other tasks as required by the Management team.

Essential Criteria: 

  • Demonstrated high level communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated high level experience in design and delivery of a range of virtualisation technologies including VMWare.
  • Demonstrated high level experience in administering underpinning resources associated with delivery of virtual environments.
  • Demonstrated high level experience in TCP/IP networking including routing, firewalls, proxy server, DHCP, DNS and SMTP.
  • Demonstrated experience in the configuration and maintenance of computer, server, and network hardware.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and producing security framework documentation and / or implementing network and endpoint security elements.
  • Capacity to work autonomously, take initiative, manage conflicting priorities, liaise with stakeholders at all levels, and produce quality outcomes within deadlines.

Desired Criteria

  • Experience and knowledge with automation tool sets such as Ansible and vRA.
  • Experience in project and systems development roles.
  • Industry acknowledged certifications (e.g., VCP4-DV) and qualifications.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
