Insitec has been named as a major ICT partner for the Australian Department of Defence following the company’s successful acquisition of Canberra-based Exeter (Aust) Pty Ltd trading as DMV.

The company has been appointed to the Information Communications Technology Partner Arrangement (ICTPA) panel taking on the position formerly held by DMV.

As a result of the merger, more than sixty former DMV staff have joined the Insitec Group and are being progressively integrated into the wider Insitec enterprise.

The Chairman of Insitec Andrew McNeill said the acquisition significantly increased the company’s resources and expanded the horizon for engagement with Defence’s Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG).

“The Insitec board and executive are very excited at the prospects for future leveraging of this panel membership as a platform to expand our service offerings to Defence and the wider Australian Government,” he said.

Managing Director Michael Branch said the expansion of Insitec ICT team capabilities, with the addition of the DMV staff would enable the company to provide an even wider set of services across CIOG.

“Insitec is building a globally competitive sovereign capability for the Australian Defence Force and its supporting enabling groups via a focus on high-level integration skills, locally-provided technical support and innovative cyber services,” Mr Branch said.

“The DMV ICTPA acquisition comprises one further tranche of a wider growth initiative across the Insitec Group commenced over the first half of 2020, with the aim of developing our business capabilities to better focus on evolving Australian Defence Force future military capability requirements, as canvassed in the 2020 Force Structure Plan.

“It also fully complements our recent acquisition of Horizon Defence Systems Pty Ltd and the successful merging of that company’s capabilities into our Military, Intelligence and Space Systems (MIS) business.”
